aussie idol
i'm totally hooked on aussie idol! and most ridiculously, after watching the idol clips on youtube, i started proclaiming my aussie pride. i think this country is infectious :P but seriously, aussie idol blows me away. it's 100 percent original and it's like we grew up thinking the aussies were a bunch of lazy hippies let's sing songs surf and not work people, the show somehow confirms this stereotype. or so i'd like to think. i'm sick of diva-ish powerhouse singing, i love that aussie idol has heaps of ppl who perform their own original songs and showcase their own voice and not try to do some over-the-top shizz. hell, i even like the aussie accent in the songs. and come to think of it, i was never the sort to like idol.
well here are some of my favs.
lisa mitchell, 16 years old, plays her own indie type songs at cafes:

lastly, this is damien leith, irish and hideous but sings ever so hauntingly beautiful. astounding falsetto he has:

haha pls do check out these talented ppl! :) i swear everyone in the top 24 sounds like THE idol. they're THAT good. there was this guy, Bobby Flynn, my oh my, he sings like some mountain singer airy breathy let's attain nirvana kinda thing. wootwoot.
so it's now the top 12 and i'm powerless to my addiction. i'm supp to study for my econs test but here i am, looking at idol clips on repeat .. aussie idol tops american idol any day :P
