good news!
well well, today brings more exciting (than usual) news my beloved readers!
so there we were, a bunch of phil 1125 students gathered outside the phil office after just having received our essays (more on that later) .. when the following scene unfolds :
boy: (shuffles to my side) u're mickey right?
me: (looks confused) huh? uh yep.
boy: do you wanna go to lunch or sth? like maybe hang out and stuff?
me: (looks up quite surprised but pleasantly nonetheless) oh, ok! sure! when?
boy: oh anytime like we could exchange phone numbers.. (looks all over the place) i've been interested in you for a long time-
me: (stops in tracks. and thinks very hard) OH wait. i'm sorry! i'm engaged!
boy: ohh sorry about that, it's ok!
that was so embarrassing! things are gonna be a bit awkward now in phil class. :/ here's a funny bit of conversation i had with my cousin. it's a bit mean but it's jst for kicks :) :P
ed: was he hot?
me: now that's the horror of it all. he was the most frightful boy! ghastly! i dread to think what this may imply because by any standards, i refuse to acknowledge that this most unfortunate incident is a marker of my beauty!
ed: how dare he!? to think he even toyed with the idea of dating you. and i'm not even talking about the action itself.
me: you don't say! it's audacious and preposterous the way he's disregarded my beauty and overstepped the boundaries.
ed: yes, what utter disregard. good thing they don't have corporal punishment in aus. he ought to be thrown in the cells.
me: i concur.

now on for some motivational bits esp for grace with her upcoming onslaught of shiznits at uni.
i got back my visual arts essay this morning and to my very very pleasant surprise (i'd become quite discouraged by this point), i'd gotten a 79 percent! that's one off a high distinction :D and the comments were highly encouraging. it said my essay was well articulated and my points were intelligently argued :) i even got a good intro comment and a very well done at the conclusion :) whoohoo! now how is that! the last time i got a comment on any of my essay was probably a huge question mark in red splashed across a blank page with just my name written on. ;)
and then i got back my phil essay. well this one's a 76 percent but yeah not too shabby. i quite expected the worst for it. but by any rate, my GPA is looking pretty damn fine now.
NEED. TO. DO. BETTER. my new aim is a 75 percent ave instead of my 80 percent ave (what lunacy!).
before i forget, this morning while driving to uni, we had to stop midway to wait for a mother swan and a father swan with their little ducklings to cross the road and the traffic started to pile up! they were soo cute o.O and slow too! taking their own sweet time to waddle across and this baby duckling shat on the road! and another one had difficulty climbing up the kerb :P omg so adorable! i took a videeoo :)
